COVID UPDATE – January 7, 2022

All residents and staff tested at the Healthcare Center yesterday, 1/6. All staff at Friendship Towers also tested yesterday, 1/6.

The lab didn’t pick up the samples yesterday during the snowstorm. We are delivering the samples to the lab today and due to their backlog from an uptick in local testing combined with the weather complications yesterday, we do not expect they will have many results this evening.

On the bright side, we will be releasing several staff members today from quarantine, our resident at the Healthcare Center that has been in isolation will be released tomorrow if all goes to plan, AND we do not have any residents showing any new COVID signs or symptoms at this time. PRAISE THE LORD.

Next Testing Date

We will test all staff and residents at the Healthcare Center again on Monday, 1/10 out of an abundance of caution. Communal dining and activities will be paused over the weekend because we don’t have the results from lab tests at this time.

Onsite Covid Testing

The Labtox Drive-Thru Covid testing site on our campus is closed due to inclement weather today. They will be back on Monday, January 10th.

Exposure Reminder

Visitors should still not visit a resident/tenant in health care settings within 14-days following a COVID exposure. If you have been exposed (and many folks have right now due to Omicron), please do not visit the campus to help keep our residents and staff safe.

Thank you!

We have to lift up our staff for pulling together and showing an incredible amount of team work and love for their residents and coworkers yesterday. It could have been an extremely chaotic situation, but staff took the day in stride and did what they needed to do to put resident care first. We are grateful to so many, but want to give a special thanks to our maintenance and transportation team for helping staff get home and here again.
