COVID UPDATE | February 21, 2022

UPDATED AGAIN AT 8:45 PM —

Friendship Towers

Unfortunately we have seen a spike at Friendship Towers. Staff and residents at Friendship Towers PCR tested on Monday, 2/21. We have 15 additional resident cases in the Heritage Wings and Expansion Wing of Friendship Towers.

No new cases in the Assisted Living Memory Care. Memory Care at Friendship Towers will go back to communal dining and activities on Tuesday because they will have gone through two rounds of testing with no new positives..

As a result, we must take a strong proactive approach to combat the spread of this virus on the lower floors of Friendship Towers.

So, beginning Tuesday 2/22/22 we will be pausing all communal dining services for at least the next 3 days (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday), until after the results of our next round of PCR testing on Thursday 2/24/22.

All meals will be delivered to apartments. Please call 859-271-9001, ext. 175 to place a delivery or if you have questions. We will be testing door to door and be following CDC guidelines for safe infection prevention protocol.

Additionally, we will be pausing all communal activities and church services until further notice in an effort to minimize the spread.

In the event a resident or staff exhibits symptoms consistent with COVID, we also have the option to conduct rapid antigen COVID tests as well.

Please let Bobby Green or Vicki Phillips know if you have any questions at all. In the meantime, we are encouraging all residents to wear masks in any common areas as well as use good social distancing. All staff are required to wear N95 masks at all times.

Sayre Healthcare Center

All staff were required to test at the Healthcare Center today, 2/21. Results have come back and we have had 1 new resident and 1 new staff member from Unit 1 tested positive.

We will resume group activities and dining on Units 200 and 400. We will test 100 residents and all staff on Thursday, 2/24. Group dining and activities is paused for Unit 100.

Covid Mitigation

Everyone across campus is completed continuing education on how to don and doff PPE, hand hygiene, and mask usage.
