Sayre Healthcare Center
As you know, the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency is ending on May 11, 2023. As such, we are reviewing and adjusting the protocols that we have had in place during the pandemic. The changes below are in accordance with CDC guidance and are consistent with protocols that other senior living and healthcare have in place.
Health Screening Questionnaires and Temperature Checks
Effective immediately, health screening and temperature checks upon entry to the facility will no longer be required for staff, residents, and/or visitors. In order to protect the health and safety of our community, we ask that you continue to report upon entrance a recent high-risk exposure to COVID, if you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID, or if you have tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 7 days. This will allow us to provide you with recommendations for masking, working, and/or visitation that will continue to keep everyone safe and that are in accordance with CDC guidelines
Masking Protocol
Effective immediately, masks will no longer be required to be worn by staff, residents and/or visitors.
Exceptions to this protocol include the following scenarios:
- If the County Transmission rate is in the Red;
- If we have confirmed positive cases in the building;
- If a resident is currently under isolation precautions for COVID. In this case, staff and visitors will be required to wear a tight-fitting (KN95) mask while in the resident’s room OR;
- If you have been exposed to, tested positive for COVID OR are experiencing any symptoms consistent with COVID within the last 7 days.
We will continue to have masks available at the front desk for staff and visitors who wish to continue wearing masks. Additionally, appropriate masks will be outside of a resident’s room if they are under isolation precautions.
Sayre Christian Village will monitor the Fayette County transmission rate on a weekly basis as the map is updated. A copy of the map will be posted at the front desk. In the event our masking protocol should change due to one of the conditions above, notice will be provided upon entrance to the facility. Additionally, this information will continue to be available on our website here.
Employee Entrances & Parking Changes
Because health screening will no longer be required upon entrance to the building, employees will now be permitted to use the other employee entrances to the facility as we did prior to the pandemic (Greenfield Drive and the back of the building by the kitchen/service hall). The time clock will be relocated back to its original location in the service hall as you go to the kitchen/laundry area. Employees should no longer park at the front entrance to Sayre Healthcare Center – the exception is those employees who work the night shift.
We are all excited to announce these updates, but please still be diligent in protecting the safety and health of our community. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Penny Upton, VP Healthcare Services.
