For the 4th year, Transylvania University‘s Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity joined our Assisted Living Community for a special intergenerational dance. This year’s theme was a Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball.
Residents spent the week getting ready, planning their outfits and making colorful masks during fun activities with our Life Enrichment Team. Events like this are just one of the many big celebrations we host throughout the year to keep our community active, engaged, and happy.
The fraternity brothers arrived with beads, red roses, and big smiles. They greeted residents they knew from past years and made new friends with those who were a little shy at first. The music played, the dance floor stayed busy, and residents enjoyed punch and sweet treats in between dances.
Our community isn’t just for those who need assistance; many residents are fully independent but enjoy knowing support is available if and when they need it. They also love taking part in the same fun, meaningful events. It’s a place where residents of all ages and living options can come together, celebrate, and build connections.
As part of the tradition, a few brothers showed off their moves doing ‘the worm,’ and the night ended with a big conga line that had everyone joining in. When it’s your turn to join, just say yes; it’s all about having fun!
This event shows what makes Sayre Christian Village – Friendship Towers so special: connecting generations, enjoying fun activities, and celebrating life together. There’s always something exciting happening here, and we can’t wait for the next event!
