'Be the Light' Night 2024

Maintenance Goes the Extra Mile

Service to Sayre

There is no one more deserving of the LeadingAge Kentucky Supportive Services Award than Zoe Peacock, Maintenance Technician at Sayre Christian Village and we are thrilled to nominate her.  While Zoe is a very shy and soft-spoken individual, she is one of the most results-driven and dedicated employees on our campus.

From the moment Zoe joined our team, she has been eager to assist in all things maintenance and for that matter, any other need we have on campus.  She takes extreme pride in making sure our facility always looks it’s best, particular during holidays or occasions when we have programs and activities that draw a lot of visitors and family members.

Zoe to the Rescue

Recently, the boiler/water heater burst at the facility in the middle of the night on the weekend, leaving the facility with a mess to contend with.  Without any hesitation, Zoe came to the rescue and cleaned up all of the water, worked fiercely with the HVAC company to remedy the situation and had the water heater repaired and replaced before resident care was impacted.

As a non-profit, we challenge our employees to be good stewards with our resources and Zoe does just that – she is extremely cost-conscientious and will research all possible options to always present the most cost effective method for all of her projects – often times being so resourceful that she brings things from home to get the job done.

During National Nursing Home Week, she jumps right in to prepare the multi-purpose for our themed-events and then will humbly hide in the corner because she doesn’t like being recognized.  She will offer to do things after work hours and has become a fan favorite for staff because she also grooms our staff’s dogs!

Courageous Personality

Zoe has the most unflappable can-do attitude on campus. She never says no, she always says ‘I’ll figure it out.’ She is leaned on for more than maintenance and is seen helping in any capacity that arises, from assisting with organizing a campus yard sale fundraiser to building pieces that are needed for marketing and events to help us achieve our moonshot goals

Zoe does her job with such grace, always on top of things, and is always pleasant to residents and families.  We call her the “Zoe of all trades” and we love the fact that Zoe “makes things happen” and are happy to nominate her for the Supportive Services Award.

IT’S NOT A JOB, IT’S A MISSION

Zoe has been helping Sayre with all of our maintenance needs. She has such a helpful attitude and humble way about her and she deserves the Supportive Services Award.
